XRA STAFF, MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN XR ACCESS SYMPOSIUM

On Thursday, June 9th and Friday, June 10th, XR Access hosted a two-day virtual symposium featuring panels on inclusive VR media and entertainment, accessible training and collaboration efforts, and cutting-edge research within the field. Attendees learned how to make XR more inclusive today, and how it will affect everyday life tomorrow.

On Day 1, Liz Hyman, CEO of the XR Association, provided a co-introduction to the symposium’s keynote address given by Accenture’s Marisol Villena Salerno and Jacque Madison on “Inclusive XR at Scale – The Nth Floor”. On Day 2, XRA staff were featured in two Deep Dive Discussion breakout sessions: Stephanie Montgomery joined Thomas Logan of Equal Entry and Roland Dubois of Shop-Ware to discuss “Non-Visual Access to Immersive Content” (A4) and Joan O’Hara addressed “Policy Implications for XR Accessibility” (A2) along with Corinne Weible, Partnership on Employment and Accessible Technology (PEAT) and John Soroushian, Bipartisan Policy Center. XRA member companies also participated in the event’s program, including Meta and Big Rock Creative.
