XR ASSOCIATION'S POLICY TEAM IN ACTION

||

New York, NY. – On July 11, XRA’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy, Joan O’Hara, participated in The Metaverse Metropolis Symposium at the Microsoft Garage in New York City.  The full day symposium and workshop brought together public officials, technologists, futurists, architects, policy experts, and urbanists to publicly discuss issues and implications of the metaverse. The Metaverse Metropolis is an initiative of the Jacobs Urban Tech Hub at Cornell Tech exploring the implications of augmented reality (AR) and spatial computing at urban scale.

Later that day in Washington, D.C., Miranda Lutz, XRA’s Director of Public Policy, participated in a workshop, “Visions for the future of the metaverse(s), augmented reality and social media” that explored potential paths for the adoption of immersive technology and how AR, VR, and MR will impact different parts of society. The workshop was hosted by VVA, TNO, and PPMI as a part of their study on how new online platforms affect Europe’s society and economy for the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT) of the European Commission.
