Washington, D.C. – Elizabeth Hyman, CEO of the XR Association (XRA), recently joined the VR/AR Bytes podcast to discuss the latest legislative efforts shaping the future of immersive technology in the United States. In a conversation with host John A. Cunningham, Hyman highlighted key policy initiatives the XRA team has been working on, including newly introduced bipartisan legislation aimed at advancing immersive technologies.
U.S. Senators. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), along with Representatives Suzan DelBene (D-WA) and August Pfluger (R-TX), have introduced the bipartisan, bicameral United States Leadership in Immersive Technology Act of 2025, a bill that would establish an advisory panel to develop a national immersive technology strategy. The legislation seeks to position the U.S. as a leader in XR innovation, aligning with similar efforts already underway in other countries.
During the podcast, Hyman emphasized the importance of collaboration between industry organizations like XRA and the VR/AR Association (VRARA) to drive policy discussions and ensure responsible development and adoption of immersive technologies.
