Washington, D.C. — The XR Association (XRA) is developing a new guidance document to support secondary school teachers interested in integrating immersive technologies into classroom instruction.
The guidance, developed by XRA member companies working in education, is intended for educators who are comfortable using digital tools and committed to high-quality instruction but are still exploring how immersive technology (XR) fits within standards-aligned, high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) frameworks. The document aims to help educators better understand where and how immersive technologies can enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
The paper will provide practical insights on deploying XR learning tools effectively, with a focus on aligning immersive experiences with instructional goals and classroom standards. It also addresses a knowledge gap identified by XRA members, who note that many educators lack clear guidance on how to implement XR in ways that maximize value for both students and teachers.
XRA expects the guidance to serve as a resource for educators seeking to adopt immersive technologies thoughtfully and responsibly, supporting more effective classroom use and improved learning experiences.
