Washington, D.C. – On March 24, 2026, the XR Association (XRA) commended the White House for releasing its National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence, an important first step toward a coordinated national strategy for the development and governance of AI systems. Establishing such a framework is critical to ensuring U.S. leadership in emerging technologies, and, more importantly, ensuring that leadership drives advancements in areas such as workforce training, healthcare, and economic productivity throughout the economy.
“We applaud the Administration for taking action to chart a path for the nation’s AI future,” said Elizabeth Hyman, CEO of the XR Association. “XRA stands ready to work with the White House, Congress, and industry partners to build on this foundation and develop policies that both advance innovation and balance important safety and data privacy concerns – keeping humans at the center of technological progress.”
XR, which encompasses not only immersive hardware but also intelligent systems such as digital twins, spatial computing, and wearable AI, represents a critical platform for the deployment of artificial intelligence. By connecting the digital and physical worlds, XR enables AI to function in context, supporting real-time decision making, enhancing workforce training and safety, and delivering human-centered solutions across industries.
XRA looks forward to collaborating on initiatives that advance this vision, where U.S. leadership in AI and XR together ensures innovation that is safe, responsible, and transformative for people and society.
