Washington, D.C. – The XR Association (XRA) and the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) will host the 5th Annual AR/VR Policy Conference on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, in Washington, D.C. The event convenes industry leaders, policymakers, academia, and researchers to explore the evolving policy landscape for immersive technologies.

This year’s agenda features the panel, “U.S. and Global Perspectives on Nurturing the Immersive Tech Ecosystem,” which will examine how industrial and international policies are shaping the future of immersive technology. As XR becomes an essential tool in fields such as manufacturing, urban planning, national defense, and healthcare, its global growth increasingly hinges on systems that support innovation, adoption, and economic competitiveness.

The panel will highlight how strategic investments in research and development, tax incentives, workforce development, and domestic manufacturing impact XR advancement. It will also explore how international cooperation on trade, regulatory frameworks, and technical standards can unlock market access and ensure global interoperability.
