XR and Standards
As immersive technology proves its effectiveness and efficiency for solving challenges from workforce development to automation, standards to guide performance, usability and safety are being developed globally.
XRA’s Standards Working Group (SWG) focuses on monitoring and actively contributing to domestic and international standardization efforts for virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) technologies. It brings together representatives from member companies with expertise in product safety, engineering, design, and standards compliance to ensure that XR technologies develop in a responsible and interoperable manner. The group collaborates with standards developing organizations such as UL, CTA, IEEE, and ISO/IEC/JTC 1 to influence and shape XR standards globally.
