XRA CEO DISCUSSES XR POLICY CHALLENGES AT IVRHA CONFERENCE

Friday, March 4, 2022 – XRA CEO Liz Hyman provided remarks on “Securing the Limitless Future of the XR Industry” in Nashville, TN at the annual conference led by the International Virtual Reality and Healthcare Association (IVRHA). She praised the impressive work that has been done in the XR medical sector, applying XR to improve public health and healthcare outcomes across education and simulation, clinical care delivery, and applying data science and machine learning to improve diagnosis and therapeutics. Hyman also discussed the public policy challenges facing the XR medical sector and steps necessary to addressing those challenges. These include delineating between a medical device and a consumer or wellness application, working with the FDA to reimburse for XR treatments and therapeutics, and addressing the core issues that impact the public’s trust in XR.
