Dallas, TX – Earlier today, Elizabeth Hyman, CEO of the XR Association, moderated a panel discussion at the Augmented Enterprise Summit 2024 in Dallas, Texas. The panel, titled “Connected Workplace: Pairing XR with AI & Other Emerging Technologies,” explored how XR can be paired with AI and other emerging technologies to improve business outcomes. Hyman was joined by Jeffrey Berthiaume, Senior Innovator at Southwest Airlines; Mohamed Abbas, Vice President Head of Product Growth & Innovation at TD Bank; Bharat Sharma, Machine Vision and Automation Lad at CSX; Doug Gorr, Senior Director, Enterprise Innovation Architect at Eli Lilly; and George Hellstern, Lockheed Martin Fellow at Lockheed Martin. Each panelist brought unique insights from their respective industries, showcasing the multifaceted applications of XR and AI to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and create new business opportunities.
Panelists delved into the use cases combining XR and AI (including generative AI, computer vision, machine learning, object and voice recognition, etc.), integration and other challenges, the role of XR in industry 4.0, and other emerging technologies on the horizon such as brain computer interfaces and quantum computing. The panel demonstrated that the combination of XR with AI and other technologies is not just a trend but a strategic imperative for businesses aiming to stay competitive in an increasingly digital and connected world.
