The XR Association (XRA) has launched the XRx Healthcare Summit, a new working forum bringing together health systems, clinicians, payers, patients, technologists, and policymakers to identify practical pathways for scaling extended reality (XR) in healthcare delivery, workforce training, and health system operations.
While evidence supporting XR continues to grow in areas such as chronic pain, behavioral health, surgical planning and clinical education, real-world adoption has been slowed by workflow disruption, reimbursement uncertainty and perception gaps compared with other digital tools.
The summit will bring together cross-sector stakeholders to build a shared understanding of XR’s benefits, limitations, and risks, with an emphasis on generating real-world evidence to support investment decisions. Discussions will focus on clinical effectiveness, total cost of care and return on investment, workforce productivity, patient experience, and equity in access and outcomes.
The XRx Healthcare Summit is co-produced by the XR Association and the University of Maryland Institute for Health Computing and Medical Innovation in Extended Reality (MIXR). Organizations interested in participating should contact Stephanie Montgomery, Senior Vice President of research and best practices at XRA.
