The XR Association (XRA) recently submitted comments in response to the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and the National Science and Technology Council’s Request for Information (RFI) on the development of a National Strategic Plan for Advanced Manufacturing.

In its submission, XRA emphasized the critical role immersive technologies play in strengthening America’s manufacturing ecosystem, from accelerating design and prototyping through digital twins, to upskilling workers through immersive training, and enhancing factory safety and efficiency. XRA urged OSTP to ensure that immersive technologies are prioritized as an enabling technology across federal research, development, and workforce initiatives to bolster U.S. competitiveness.

The comments build on XRA’s ongoing advocacy for policies that position immersive technologies as a pillar of America’s innovation and industrial strategy.
