Washington, D.C. – On March 26, Elizabeth Hyman, CEO of the XR Association, joined a panel of industry experts for a webinar discussion on how immersive technology is revolutionizing the fire service. Hyman was joined by Paul Speight, Ken Willette, James Mullins, and Kirk McKinzie. Panelists discussed next-generation training tools, including immersive scenario-based simulations designed to improve firefighter readiness and retention. The discussion also highlighted operational advancements, such as AR overlays and real-time data visualization, which enable safer and faster decision-making during emergencies.

Panelists emphasized the critical role of immersive technology in enhancing firefighter preparedness, particularly through virtual and augmented reality training programs that provide hands-on experience in high-risk scenarios without real-world dangers. They discussed how these tools allow firefighters to practice emergency response, hazardous material handling, and search-and-rescue operations in a controlled yet highly realistic digital environment.
