On April 15, 2026, Elizabeth Hyman, CEO of the XR Association, presented at the 4th Annual VRARA Central Florida Immersive Technology Summit, hosted by UCF and held at the Central Florida Tech Grove in Orlando. The event brought together government, military, industry, and academic leaders to focus on immersive technologies. The summit’s theme, “Mission-Ready Immersion – XR, Simulation, and AI Powering the Next Generation of MS&T,” framed a full day of panels, presentations, and hands-on demos showcasing how immersive technologies support modeling, simulation, and training.
Hyman provided a focused briefing on legislative and policy developments in Washington, D.C. relevant to XR, simulation, and AI—positioned within the summit’s mission-readiness theme. Her talk connected current and emerging federal actions in Congress and the executive branch to concrete implications for the MS&T and immersive technology communities represented at the event. In particular, she highlighted legislation supported by the XR Association: the U.S. Leadership in Immersive Technology Act and the Immersive Technology for the American Workforce Act. Both legislative proposals have been introduced in the House and Senate and on a bipartisan basis.
