US Capitol Building in Washington DC

Washington, D.C. – On Friday, March 24, 2023, the XR Association expressed support for the appropriations requests made by the Congressional Reality Caucus. In the letter, the co-Chairs of the Reality Caucus – Representatives Suzan DelBene (WA-01), Darrell Issa (CA-48), Yvette Clarke (NY-09), and Ted Lieu CA-36) – encouraged the House Appropriations Committee to include programmatic priorities to promote the use of immersive technology in Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 government spending bills.

This request highlights lawmakers’ growing recognition of the potential of immersive technology in various sectors, including education, healthcare, workforce development, infrastructure, and national security. The Congressional Reality Caucus’ request for provisions to promote immersive technology is a positive step towards harnessing the full potential of XR technology.
