As the year comes to a close, the XR Association (XRA) would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported our mission throughout 2024. 2024 Highlights:
- Release of XRA’s Charting the Future of Immersive Technology White Paper and Webinar Series
The culmination of XRA’s efforts over the last few years, this white paper outlines nine key initiatives to accelerate the responsible development of XR. XRA hosted a corresponding webinar series and a panel discussion at the CTA Innovation House to explore the white paper’s findings and implications for the industry.
- Annual Demo on the Hill
XRA hosted its annual Demo on the Hill, giving Members of Congress and staff a hands-on experience with XR technology to showcase its transformative potential.
- XRA All-Member Meeting
XRA members came together to discuss the future of immersive technology and share insights on industry growth and opportunities.
- Welcoming Ten New Members
This year, XRA expanded our membership, adding 10 new member companies, including Samsung, to the growing roster of industry leaders in AR, MR, and VR.
- Advocating for Privacy
XRA joined the United for Privacy Coalition, urging Congress to strengthen privacy protections by supporting the American Privacy Rights Act.
- Publishing Research
- Manufacturing and Workforce Development Survey: Revealed that 81% of manufacturing CEOs see XR as essential to the industry’s future.
- International Standards Engagement Assessment: Showcased the risks of falling behind in XR standards development and urged stronger federal support.
- XRA Publishes Navigating the FDA Regulatory Landscape: The white paper examines XR’s impact on healthcare and outlines FDA clearance pathways for XR medical devices
- XRA Partners with Other Tech Associations to Host Innovation Nation
XRA and leading tech associations unite at party conventions to advance 2025 innovation agenda.
- GAO Releases a Report Revealing that Most Federal Civilian Agencies are Adopting Immersive Technologies
16 agencies plan to expand XR use through 2028 for data visualization, outreach, and collaboration.
- XRA Continues to Serve as a Trusted Convener
Educating industry, academia, policymakers, and public interest groups exploring the responsible development and adoption of XR.
- The XR Association (XRA) and the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) hosted the fourth annual AR/VR Policy Conference
This event brought together stakeholders to explore immersive technology’s impact on healthcare, education, and workforce development.
