XRA PARTICIPATES IN GWU “IMMERSIVE DIGITAL FUTURES” CONFERENCE

Washington, DC — On Thursday, June 9th, XRA CEO Liz Hyman delivered a keynote speech, “Domestic Policy Issues and XR,” at the George Washington University Digital Trade & Data Governance Hub’s Immersive Digital Future Conference. Hyman highlighted several use cases of XR, the newly released Bipartisan Policy Center report on immersive technology, and how XRA is educating policymakers about the potential of XR.

XRA’s Vice President of Public Policy, Joan O’Hara, moderated a panel discussion titled, “Ethics and Human Rights,” with panelists Brittan Heller, Fellow at the Atlantic Council, Mel Slater, Distinguished Investigator at the University of Barcelona, Rebecca Rouse, Associate Professor at the University of Skövde, and Sam Gregory, Program Director at WITNESS. The session covered the intersection of ethics and human rights and XR, featuring discussions on privacy, interoperability, and other security considerations in the metaverse.
