2020 AUGMENTED AND VIRTUAL REALITY SURVEY WEBINAR

2020 Augmented and Virtual Reality Survey Report|

Last week, Jason Schneiderman, Maddie Callander and XRA CEO Liz Hyman teamed up to discuss the Fourth Annual AR/VR Survey, co-sponsored by XRA, Perkins Coie and Boost VC. Released in March, the survey yielded promising projections for this year in #XR. Of course, massive changes to our ways of living and working have since created new challenges and opportunities for #immersivetech.

Outside of entertainment, survey respondents expected the most XR disruption in sectors like healthcare, education, workforce development, and manufacturing over the next year. COVID-19 has magnified the value of #virtualexperiences to these sectors through increased use of virtual-first approaches like distance learning and telehealth. We’ve also seen XR technology bring new depths of understanding to doctors studying the coronavirus at the molecular level.

The promise of XR has also come to the fore in discussions around racial and social justice. The panelists discussed its role in creating change through immersive storytelling, building empathy and connectivity during times of division.

It is in these and many other ways that XR can be a tool to solve many of today’s most pressing challenges. Check out the full webinar recording here:
