Confronted with a global health crisis and social distancing mandates, demand for immersive technologies such as virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (collectively, “XR”) has reached an unprecedented high. As businesses, communities, and governments search for mission-critical tools, technology’s vital role in the future of work and education has never been more important.
Colleges and universities have adopted XR technologies to deliver personalized “hands-on” learning experiences. These technologies can be used on campus or remotely, expanding options and improving collaboration and learning in both settings. Likewise, companies across all sectors have digitized to keep their workforce connected, trained and resilient during this current period of uncertainty. Moreover, the workplace we once knew is quickly becoming a thing of the past and XR will be critical to the workplace of the future.
