Policy Priorities for the U.S. XR Industry
On June 10, 2025, XRA’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy, Joan O’Hara, will moderate a panel discussion titled “Policy Priorities for the U.S. XR Industry,” will explore the legislative and regulatory frameworks needed to drive innovation and maintain U.S. leadership in immersive technology. O’Hara will be joined by Brittan Heller, Lecturer at Stanford University, for this timely discussion on shaping the future of immersive technologies through thoughtful policymaking.
Panelists will discuss the recent reintroduction of the bipartisan United States Leadership in Immersive Technology Act of 2024, as well as the XR Association’s (XRA) call for the Trump administration to integrate XR into the nation’s artificial intelligence strategy. The conversation will also examine geopolitical competition with nations like China, South Korea, and the European Union, and the importance of governance, supply chain diversification, and investment in research and development.
Stronger Together: Accessibility & Diversity in a Post-DEIA XR Landscape
On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the XR Association’s Senior Vice President of Research and Best Practices, Stephanie Montgomery, will participate on a panel, titled “Stronger Together: Accessibility & Diversity in a Post-DEIA XR Landscape,” will explore how investing in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) strengthens teams, fosters innovation, and drives efficiency in the rapidly evolving XR industry.
Montgomery will be joining Dylan Fox, Director of Operations at XR Access, and Devin Baldwin, WebXR Developer & Educator at The Devinci Code. Together, they will discuss the shifting DEIA landscape, the misconceptions surrounding accessibility and diversity, and how inclusive workplaces lead to stronger, more creative, and more successful organizations—with or without a mandate from above.
XR in Enterprise: The Role of Augmented Reality in Industry – Going “Operational“
On June 11, 2025, XRA’s CEO, Liz Hyman will discuss how the AR/smart glasses category is gaining momentum, with new, innovative products from strong players like Meta, Snap and Amazon pushing the boundaries of the market. Her session, titled, “XR in Enterprise: The Role of Augmented Reality in Industry – Going “Operational”“, will highlight how the logistics industry, in particular, is embracing these advancements.
Building on these technological advancements, many industries stand to benefit from wearable technology. In 2025, enterprises are experiencing a fundamental shift in how they approach AR technology deployment, with growing emphasis on long-term strategy and operational integration.
