XR Association Membership Categories and Eligibility

  • Executive Members. Google LLC, HTC America, Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Meta, and Sony Interactive Entertainment America LLC shall be Executive Members. Any other company shall be eligible to be an Executive Member if it: (1) in the normal conduct of business engages in the manufacturing of, and/or operation of a platform for, XR-head mounted displays and mobile XR, including virtual, augmented or mixed reality displays, mobile AR, and other spatial or immersive computing uses; (2) has a bona fide intent to bring its first-party hardware, or third-party hardware built to its platform specifications, to global market in a reasonable time period;  (3) demonstrates that it is dedicated to the purposes of this Corporation as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation, (4) is approved by all of the Executive Members, (5) pays such dues and fees as the Board may fix from time to time; and (6) meets such additional criteria for Executive Membership as may be established from time to time. 

  • Associate Members. Any company shall be eligible to be an Associate Member if it: (1) is dedicated to the purposes of this Corporation as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation; (2) pays such dues and fees as the Board may fix from time to time; (3) meets the qualifications of one of the following subcategories, as determined by the Board of Directors or President of the Corporation; and (4) meets such additional criteria for Associate Membership as may be established from time to time.
    • Component and Peripheral Companies. Manufacturers individual systems or component parts or hardware that are used in or accompany XR-related end product. Without limitation, this may include companies that produce position, eye, and gesture tracking technologies, display technologies, chip processors, hand controllers, and heads-up displays.
    • Infrastructure Companies. Provides or builds hardware, software, facilities and service components on which immersive technologies rely on for transmission and services. Without limitation, this may include broadband providers, cloud and edge solutions providers, and companies that facilitate the transmission and services of these products.
    • Enterprise Solution Providers. Integrates XR technologies with a solution that serves an end user’s mission or needs. Without limitation, such solutions may enable an end-user to disseminate or use mission-critical data and immersive or spatial technologies for their benefit (i.e. greater productivity, reduced error, increased workforce training, etc.)
    • End Users. Deploy XR technologies to achieve desired outcomes. Without limitation, this includes companies and institutions in the healthcare, education, manufacturing, entertainment, gaming, social media, architecture, engineering, and construction, retail, workforce training, travel, and tourism industries.

  • Allied Partners. Any company or firm shall be eligible to be an Allied Partners Member if it (1) is dedicated to the purposes of this Corporation as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation; (2) in the normal conduct of business contribute thought leadership or financing for XR technologies; (3) pays such dues and fees as the Board may fix from time to time; and (4) meets such additional criteria for Associate Membership as may be established from time to time.

  • Developers Council. Any company shall be eligible to be a Developers Council Member if it: (1) is dedicated to the purposes of this Corporation as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation; (2) in the normal conduct of business creates software and content for XR technologies; (3) pays such dues and fees as the Board may fix from time to time; and (4) meets such additional criteria for Associate Membership as may be established from time to time.
