Wang spoke about SCSP’s mission to make recommendations that strengthen America’s long-term competitiveness as artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies are reshaping our national security, economy, and society. He and O’Hara then dive into speaking on the United States’ role in shaping the immersive technology ecosystem, by highlighting the importance of maintaining a significant presence as an international powerhouse.
“For us, I think part of the issue really is around competition and balancing the need for regulation with recognizing that. And as we think about innovation, there is an authoritarian revival out there that is trying to run ahead of us. So that’s really the balance that we would think about. How do we make sure that we’re innovating as fast as we can when we win the competition, but also doing so in the right ways with the right guard wheels to make sure that’s done.”
