Washington, D.C. – XRA’s CEO, Liz Hyman, joined Colleen Gallagher, President and CEO of OnWrd & UpWrd, and the Association 100 in discussing the power of an equitable and diverse workforce. Hyman highlighted the efforts of XRA’s new foundation, XR for All, to intentionally create a diverse workforce from the start, so that the technology developed represents the full spectrum of users, lived experience, and imagination.
Hyman discussed the importance of having representation in the technology industry. “If we don’t have people who are actually creating the technology at the get-go that represent different ethnicities, genders, sexual preferences, etc., then we’re not going to represent that in the technology itself and drive long lasting engagement and diversity.”
Hyman and Gallagher also covered the importance of moving beyond legacy revenue generation models, what it takes to be a thought leader in the association world, and why professional development is key to managing organizational change.
