XR ASSOCIATION HOSTS THIRD ANNUAL “XRA DEMO ON THE HILL” WITH MEMBERS OF CONGRESS, STAFF, AND INDUSTRY LEADERS

Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, the XR Association, a leading trade association representing the growing ecosystem of immersive technology companies, hosted the third annual Demo on the Hill at the Rayburn House Office Building. This demonstration provided an opportunity for Members of Congress and their staff to immerse themselves in XR devices and software presented by XRA member companies Accenture, Chocolate Milk & Donuts, CleanBox, MediView, Meta, Mynd Immersive, Oberon Technology, Owlchemy, Pearson, Persistent Tech, Qualcomm, Sony, and Transfr

The XR Association’s CEO, Liz Hyman, gave remarks that focused on the organization’s 2025 policy priorities to foster innovation and create regulatory frameworks for the new Administration and 119th Congress. XRA’s Demo on the Hill event provides an opportunity to bridge the gap for policymakers to gain a firsthand understanding of the potential of XR technology across industries.

Despite inclement weather, the event attracted nearly 100 attendees, including Rep. Don Davis (NC-01), industry leaders, and congressional staff. Participants explored cutting-edge immersive technologies currently being deployed across industries for workforce training, education, healthcare, and entertainment.

The event highlighted the transformative potential of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality in enhancing daily operations across sectors. Attendees engaged in hands-on demonstrations, including conducting a home inspection as a social worker, managing a coffee shop, and performing an ultrasound on a patient. These interactive experiences underscored the real-world applications of immersive technology and its capacity to drive innovation.

Demo on the Hill reinforces XRA’s commitment to advancing the XR industry and fostering collaboration between industry leaders and policymakers. As a longstanding advocate for immersive technology, XRA continues to champion its role in shaping the future of healthcare, education, workforce development, and entertainment. By facilitating direct engagement, this event helps bridge the gap between industry and government, encouraging partnerships that drive progress and address emerging challenges.
