XR ASSOCIATION PRESENTS THE DEVELOPERS GUIDE SUITE: BEST PRACTICES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF IMMERSIVE TECHNOLOGY

XR ASSOCIATION PRESENTS THE DEVELOPERS GUIDE SUITE: BEST PRACTICES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF IMMERSIVE TECHNOLOGY

Washington, D.C. – Immersive technology experiences are bridging the gap between the physical and digital world, fully capturing users and enveloping them in the developer’s creative vision through AR, VR or MR. Developers and designers are at the forefront of this effort to bring the technology to all types of audiences, but how they create – and with whom in mind – can be the difference between a successful product and one that falls short.

That’s why the XR Association members, such as Google, Meta, Sony, Transfr, and more, representing the growing ecosystem of companies powering virtual, augmented, and mixed reality technologies, created the XRA Developer’s Guide, a series of guides on mixed and augmented reality development, modern tools and practices, and foundational principles to building safe, accessible, and impactful immersive experiences.

The suite contains five chapters, with a sixth on the way, each tailored to critical areas of development in the XR space with input from top headset and technology manufacturers. With a focus on education, accessibility, and healthcare, the Developer’s Guide helps advance XRA’s broader mission to establish evolving standards for the immersive technology industry.

Check out the chapters currently available, and download your own free copy today:

A forthcoming chapter, Chapter Six: Designing for Youth Engagement and Wellbeing in Immersive Experiences, will examine key features needed to intentionally build immersive technology with teens’ well-being in mind.

All five chapters of the developer’s guides are now available for download on XRA’s website. For more information, explore and download the full series here
