TUNE INTO THE LATEST EPISODE OF “IMMERSIVE INSIGHTS: REALITY CHECK”

Washington, D.C. – The newest episode of Immersive Insights: Reality Check: XR’s Role in a Modern and Flexible US Workforce is available for listening on all major streaming platforms. On this episode of our policy-focused mini-series, “Reality Check,” XRA’s CEO, Elizabeth Hyman, fills in for Joan O’Hara to explore how a modern and diverse workforce can contribute to U.S. competitiveness globally.

Hyman is joined by Chike Aguh, the Former Chief Innovation Officer at the U.S. Department of Labor, along with Bharanidharan Rajakumar, CEO of Transfr, a VR workforce training company. Their discussion dives into how immersive technologies can help build a future-proof workforce over the next several decades and what both government and the private sector can do to help this critical transition in our economy.

Aguh highlighted the importance of ensuring that companies and organizations are utilizing immersive technology to upskill and train all populations.

“Let’s use the most cutting-edge technology to serve the most vulnerable populations, to train them for the most in demand jobs. So, in some ways, let’s not run away from growing the toughest populations. We need to run towards them, because if we do that, we generally solve problems for other populations.”

Rajakumar discussed the opportunities that immersive technologies present in advancing career pathways and building a global ecosystem that supports the modern workforce.

“I think what’s really transformative about this is you start to see an ecosystem develop like in an ideal world, you would have the school system, the workforce development systems of K12, higher Ed, unemployment offices, and enterprise working together to create that career pathway for everybody; that hasn’t been the case in the past. I would say system wide, maybe it’s happening in pockets across the country, but this presents an opportunity. This technology presents an opportunity to build that ecosystem nationwide and then globally.”
