XR ASSOCIATION CONVENES L&D PROFESSIONALS AND XRA MEMBERS FOR LIMITLESS FUTURE CONFERENCE

ATLANTA, GA  – On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, the XR Association (XRA) hosted the Limitless Future Conference to showcase XR’s emerging role in workforce training. The in-person event convened over 100 learning and development professionals with XR equipment and software providers to discuss how immersive technology is making training, learning, and talent management more efficient.

Following a welcome message from Allison Baldwin, the President of ATD Greater Atlanta, XRA’s CEO, Liz Hyman, provided a keynote outlining the importance of industry input to expand the use of XR technology.

In addition to teasing the upcoming release of Chapter 4 of the Developer’s Guide, Hyman announced the official launch of the XR for All Foundation. The XR for All Foundation’s main priority will be supporting the development of a diverse and equitable workforce for the immersive technology industry through broad-based research and impactful partnerships for generations to come. Founding board members representing Accenture, Meta, Microsoft, and Unity discussed the need for the foundation in a video shown at the conference.

“Our mission is to tell a story that captures the current needs, the future needs, and the potential impact of true diversity in this field,” Hyman said. “We hope that this story will raise the profile of the industry, which will ultimately empower the future workforce.”

A major highlight of the conference was providing attendees with the opportunity to participate in demonstrations. In addition to the “Use Case Power Hour”, a series of in-depth presentations highlighting tangible solutions for workforce training, the Limitless Future Conference housed an exhibit space for demos.

During the demos, offered by ArborXR, Captivatar, Circuit Stream, Google, Meta, Oberon Technologies, PIXO AR, Praxis Labs, Scope AR, Transfr, and ZenVR, conference attendees had the opportunity to try out XR for themselves. Zen VR, an Atlanta-based company, showcased how they bring the meditation classroom experience right to people’s homes.

Throughout the day, attendees also sat in on panel discussions exploring the future of healthcare, workforce training, and human resources. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from an impressive array of speakers from the World Health Organization, Google, Chick-Fil-A, Westrock, and more.

Elise Smith, the founder of Praxis Labs, discussed her journey in a closing keynote. She explained how Praxis Labs’ enterprise clientele are leveraging immersive technology to achieve real and lasting outcomes for DEI.

Sponsors of the event included: ArborXR, Circuit Stream, Google, Meta, Oberon Technologies, PIXO AR, Praxis Labs, Scope AR, Talespin, Transfr, and ZenVR. Video recordings of the panels will be available on demand in early 2023.
